Vaccinations

You are eligible for the flu vaccine if you:

  • Are aged 50-64.
  • Are aged 65+. 
  • Have certain long-term health conditions. 
  • Are pregnant.
  • Live in a care home. 
  • Are the main carer for an older or disabled person, or receive a carer's allowance.
  • Live with someone who has a weakened immune system.

Some of the flu vaccines used in the UK contain egg protein. Tell the person vaccinating you if you have an egg allergy.

You are eligible for the shingles vaccine if you:

  • Were born before 02/09/1952.
  • Were born between 02/09/1952 and 01/09/1953.
  • Were born between 02/09/1957 and 01/09/1959. 

You can have the vaccine even if you have had shingles previously.

If you received your shingles vaccination after 31st of July 2024, you will be called again in April/May 2025 for your second dose.
